Description
A house, dating from the early 19th century, now used as shops and offices. The exterior is ashlar, with patterned render on the brickwork, and has a shallow-pitched slate roof and a brick end stack. The building is three storeys high, plus a cellar, and has a four-window front. It features margin-glazed French windows and a storey band. There is a 20th-century shop front on the right-hand side. A doorway on the right contains a 3-panel door with a key decoration, fluted pilasters, and a fanlight in a shallow arch, all under the storey band. The centre of the facade is recessed and has shallow pilasters rising from the first-floor storey band to the eaves.
Inside No. 6, there is a dogleg staircase with stick balusters, turned newels, and a swan neck rail. The second floor has 20th-century architraves around doors and windows. The first floor features 20th-century architraves, a cornice, and a late 19th-century marble fireplace.
No. 7 has a 20th-century straight flight of stairs to the first floor, and an early 19th-century dogleg staircase with stick balusters, turned newels, and a swan neck rail. The second floor contains two 19th-century fire surrounds, three 4-panel doors with architraves, and wall cupboards. The first floor has four moulded 4-panel doors with fluted architraves, a 2-panel door, a cornice to the front room, a picture rail, and skirting boards.
