Description

This is a cottage, dated 1825 as indicated by a datestone, with subsequent additions and alterations. It is constructed from roughly coursed limestone rubble and has a slate roof. The cottage is two storeys high, with windows positioned to the left and right of the central entrance. The ground floor windows are 16-pane glazing bar sashes with stone lintels, while the first-floor windows originally matching in style have been altered to top-hung casements. A panelled door, with its top panels now glazed, is set within a plain pedimented doorcase. The cottage features internal end stacks with prominent red brick diamond-shaped shafts added in the late 19th century. A datestone reading "JNP/1825" is located above the door. A two-storey range is set back to the right, featuring 2-light casements on each floor and a boarded door to the right; it also has a similar end stack with later red brick shafts.
