House, now 2 cottages with part of No. 2 used as shop. C17, re-modelled and extended late C18 with C19 and C20 additions and alterations. Painted brick and uncoursed rubble probably replacing timber frame, steep-pitched slate roof at right-angles to street. Original 2-bay plan extended late C18 by single-bay addition to north. 2 storeys and attic; late C20 casements throughout, 3 below eaves and 3 to ground floor, 2 gabled eaves dormers to right and one flat-roofed dormer to left, late C20 stable door to No. 4 (left) and glazed door to No. 2 (centre); small red brick internal end stack to left. Gable to road has C20 shop front and contemporary casements above, projecting purlin ends. Interior: No. 4 has timber framed partition wall with No. 2 (light panels) and gable end with square panels and long straight tension braces (upstairs), partly infilled inglenook fireplace in corner of ground-floor room; exposed roof truss of Queen-strut type forms division with No. 2.
