Description

Forde Gallery is a building that was originally a house and is now used as a shop. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of painted brick with a plain tile roof. The building is two stories high and has three bays. The front features a late 20th-century recessed shopfront in the two right-hand bays. On the left side, there is an opening for a former sash window, now fitted with late 20th-century single-pane glazing. On the first floor, there are three 16-pane sash windows, all with projecting sills and rubbed brick flat arches above them. The eaves are stepped and dentilled, and there are stacks at the ends of the building. This structure is included for its group value.
