Description
5 and 7 Wide Bargate is a shop building dating from the late 18th century, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It features colourwashed brick and a slate roof, which has a single gable stack and a ridge stack at the rear.
The exterior consists of three storeys and a three-bay front, topped with a dentilled wooden eaves cornice. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front, with a passage opening to the right. On the first floor, there is a tripartite sash window on the left and a pair of plain sashes on the right. The second floor has a glazing bar tripartite sash window on the left and a pair of glazing bar sashes on the right. All window openings are adorned with painted brick segmental arches. The interior has not been inspected.
