Description
The Trustee Savings Bank, originally built around 1790 for Samuel Tunnard, is a house that has been converted into a bank. The building was altered in 1967, and only the front facade remains from the original structure. It features red brick in Flemish bond and a hipped slate roof with lead dressings.
The exterior consists of three storeys and a five-bay front arranged in a 2:1:2 pattern, with the central bay slightly projecting. There is a low plinth and stucco sill bands on each floor, topped with a dentilled wooden eaves cornice. The central entrance is a panelled door accessed by three steps, which is set beneath a traceried fanlight and framed by panelled reveals and a Tuscan wooden doorcase with a dentilled open pediment. On either side of the entrance are single glazing bar sash windows. The first floor has five similar windows, and the second floor features five smaller versions of these windows. All windows are adorned with rubbed brick arches and fluted keystones. The interior has not been inspected.
