Description

No. 4 Wide Bargate is a shop built in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The building features colour-washed brick with stucco dressings and a slate roof that is hidden behind a tall parapet.

The exterior consists of three storeys and three bays. The shop front has been updated in the 20th century, and to the right, there is a carriageway with a flat arch. On the first floor, there are three glazing bar sash windows, and on the second floor, there are three smaller sash windows of a similar style. A panelled door is located on the right-hand side of the building.

Inside, the shop retains some original panelled doors and window architraves on the first floor.
