Description
No. 23 Strait Bargate is a shop building from the late 18th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of red brick and features painted ashlar bands, topped with a Welsh slate roof that has a single gable stack and a raised gable on the left side.
The exterior consists of three storeys plus attics, with a two-bay front. There is an impost band on the first floor and a head band on the second floor, along with a parapet that has flat stone coping. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front. On the first floor, there are two plain sash windows set in shallow round-arched arcades. The second floor features two smaller plain sash windows, and in the attic, there are two plain sashes in pedimented dormers. At the rear, there is a lower three-storey wing with brick bands. The interior has not been inspected.
