Description
19 and 21 Wide Bargate is a pair of shops dating from the late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of red brick, with part of No. 21 being colourwashed. It features a pantile roof with coped gables and two brick gable stacks.
The exterior consists of three storeys and a four-bay front, topped with a plain wooden eaves cornice. There is a narrow lane entrance beneath No. 19. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front on either side of the lane. On the first floor, there is a pair of glazing bar sash windows with 20th-century shutters, and to the right, there are two widely spaced plain sash windows. Above, there are two 20th-century casements with shutters and a pair of small glazing bar sashes. The windows of No. 19 are topped with rubbed wedge brick arches. The interior has not been inspected.
