Description
No. 31 Wide Bargate is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 18th century and has some alterations from the 19th century. The building is made of colourwashed brick and features a pantile roof with brick coped gables and stacks, with the right-hand stack being reduced in height.
The exterior has three storeys and a two-bay front, topped with a dentilled wooden eaves cornice. The 19th-century shop front includes a central recessed doorway, flanked by shop windows, and is adorned with plain pilasters, a fascia, and a cornice with console brackets. On the first and second floors, there are two plain sash windows, each with bracketed cornices. The interior has not been inspected.
