Description

No. 6, Pen Street is an early 19th-century house that has been altered in the 20th century and is now used as two shops and offices. The front of the building is lined with stucco, while the sides and rear are of red brick. It has a double-hipped roof; the front is slate, and the rear portion is covered in artificial slate, with two chimney stacks positioned in the valley of the roof.

The building has two storeys and a three-bay façade. Carved brackets are positioned under the overhanging front fascia. The central entrance has a six-panel door with an overlight, set within a plain Tuscan doorcase featuring attached three-quarter columns and modillion pediments. It is flanked by two 20th-century shop fronts. The first floor has three widely-spaced sash windows. The rear range is constructed of red brick with plain sash windows.

The interior includes a stick baluster staircase. The interior was not inspected during the listing process.
