Description

This is a pair of shops located at 53 and 55 Wide Bargate, dating from the mid-18th century and altered in the 19th century. The front is rendered, and the building features a pantile mansard roof with single ridge stacks.

The exterior consists of two storeys plus attics, with a four-bay front arranged in a 2:2 pattern. On the ground floor, there are two 19th-century shop fronts, each with a half-glazed door and a plain shop window, flanked by plain pilasters, a narrow fascia, and a cornice. The first floor has four plain sash windows with segmental heads. In the roof, there are two segmental-headed dormers, each with plain sashes.
