Description

This is a pair of shops with origins dating back to the 16th century, significantly altered and extended in the 17th century and later. The building is timber-framed and plastered, with a red plain tiled roof. It has two gabled dormers and a forward chimney stack between them. The upper floors contain two small paned vertically sliding sash windows on the left and a small paned oriel window with three horizontal sliding sashes to the right. The ground floor features a 19th-century double shop front with five-light windows on the left and four-light windows on the right, each with a central transom. There are part-glazed doors to the left and centre, a stepped approach to the centre door, a fascia, and a dentil cornice projecting and supported by five console brackets.
