Description
Nos. 14 and 16 Taylor and Partners Estate Agents (16) and Tiny Tots (14) are two shops located on South Street in Manningtree. They date from the mid-19th century, though they may have earlier origins. The shops feature a painted brick facade and a grey slate roof, with a rear chimney stack and a red-tiled outshot roof at the back. The building has paired eaves brackets and stands two storeys high, with end pilasters that have capitals.
On the first floor, there are three windows that are small paned vertically sliding sashes, each with moulded lintels decorated with patera and anthemion, along with ornamental brackets. The shop front for No. 14 (the right side) has a central door flanked by side windows, with pilasters that have capitals, a fascia above, end brackets, and a flat cornice. The shop front for No. 16 (the left side) features a door to the right of a two-light window, with a fascia and flat canopy above, moulded pilasters, a moulded frieze with corner patera, and a flat cornice.
