Description

This building in Manningtree's South Street is a shop with a facade dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of red brick with a red plain tiled roof and a red brick chimney stack on the right side. A parapet runs along the top, with a decorative band set beneath it. The building is two storeys high. The first floor features two vertically sliding sash windows with moulded surrounds, each set within a gauged brick arch. The central shop front is from the 19th century, featuring end pilasters, prominent moulded brackets supporting carved finials, a fascia, and a central stepped approach to a recessed door. Flanking the recessed door are three-light windows angled towards the entrance, with panels set below the windows. A recessed 20th-century door is located on the left side.
