Description

Pollyanna is a shop located on the north side of Manningtree High Street. The building dates from the 18th century and features a red brick facade that may have origins from an earlier period, with plaster on the right gabled apex. It has a red plain tiled roof that is hipped to the left and includes a left external red brick chimney stack. The structure is two storeys high and has cellars, with a parapet that extends to the left return. The building has a parapet and central bands, along with a plinth. There is a five-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes, each with gauged brick arches. A central entrance is approached by two steps and features a two-panelled part-glazed door, with a semi-circular fanlight above that has traceried glazing bars. The door is flanked by reveal panels and half columns with moulded capitals and bases, topped with a moulded open pediment.
