Description
The building comprises shops, dating to the 18th century with a facade that may be of even earlier origin. It has a red brick facade and a red plain-tiled roof, with a red brick chimney stack to the rear left. Outshots and rear wings are present, constructed partly of plaster and partly of weatherboard. The building is three storeys high and features a moulded eaves cornice. There are three small windows on the second floor, five on the first floor, all with small-paned vertically sliding sashes and gauged brick arches. One window on the first floor is blocked. A continuous fascia runs above the shop fronts. The left-hand shop (National Travel World) includes a central window with a glazing bar and a recessed glazed door to the right. The central section has a 20th-century glazed door set in 20th-century brickwork, and the right-hand shop (Calver and Arnold, Hardware) features two-light and three-light shop windows with a glazed door between. A moulded rainwater head is located on the left cornice.
