Description

No. 13 Abbey National Building Society and Cyril Cox, Solicitors is an office building located on the north side of Manningtree High Street. The facade dates from the early 19th century, although it may have earlier origins. The structure is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red concrete pantiled roof. It features two storeys and has rear wings, with no visible chimney stack from the road.

Architectural details include paired brackets supporting the eaves cornice, as well as an eaves and central band adorned with end and central pilasters that have moulded capitals. The shop front is characterized by double pilasters, each with capitals and bases, and brackets supporting panelled pediments on either side. The central entrance consists of glazed double doors, flanked by pilasters with brackets leading to a frieze. To the left is a shop window, while the right side is blocked with a brick base, an upper window, and a 20th-century door.
