Description
This is an early 19th-century house on South Street, Manningtree. The building is constructed of gault brick with a grey slate hipped roof, two chimney stacks with side panels, and stands two storeys high with a basement. The west facade, facing the street, has two bays and a central and end pilaster with moulded capitals. A moulded eaves cornice runs along the top. It has a two-window range of small-paned vertically sliding sash windows, each set within a gauged brick arch, with matching windows in the basement. The north face has three bays with similar windows. A recessed six-panelled door is located on the left side, featuring prominent pilasters with capitals and bases, a frieze, and a flat canopy.
