Description

Hill House is an 18th and 19th century house located on the north west side of South Street, Manningtree. The building is constructed of gault brick with a red plain tiled double-pitched roof and left and right chimney stacks. A parapet and parapet verges are also present. The house extends over three storeys and includes cellars. A band runs between the ground and first floor windows. The facade has a five-window range of small-paned vertically sliding sash windows, each with a gauged plastered arch. A plinth is visible at ground level. A central half-glazed door is accessed by steps, and is flanked by half columns with moulded capitals and bases, a moulded frieze, and a pediment.
