Description
Independents' Chapel, located to the rear (west) of Number 48, was built around 1818 and is now empty. It is constructed of gault brick and features a hipped grey slate roof with curved angles. The building has a moulded eaves cornice and stands two storeys tall. The front has three bays, with the central bay projecting forward and the outer bays curving to returns. It has a window arrangement of small paned vertically sliding sashes set under gauged brick arches. The central entrance consists of panelled double doors with a plastered surround, plain pilasters, and a flat canopy supported by wooden brackets. The curved rear angles of the chapel end in an angled bay.
