Description

This is a pair of shops with living accommodation above, dating from the late 16th to early 17th century. The front is timber-framed and rendered, while the right-hand return front shows exposed timber with whitewashed infill. The roof is tiled, with a central ridge stack to the right. The building has one storey and an attic, lit by three mullion and transome windows in the dormer, with tile hanging on the gables. On the ground floor, there’s a large, 18-pane bow window to the left, a smaller 18-pane shop front towards the centre, set on a tiled cill, and a 9-pane square bay window at the right end, supported by two wooden brackets. A glazed door is located at the left end, while another glazed door sits to the right, sheltered by an open-gabled hood.
