Description

This building, divided into shops and offices, dates back to the 16th century, with a front of the late 18th century on the left side and 19th-century alterations to the right. It is timber-framed, featuring a red brick front on the left, rendered cladding on the right, and a tall, plain tiled half-hipped roof. A plat band runs over the ground floor centre, and a parapet with moulded brick coping is present on the left. The ridge stack sits to the right of the centre.

The irregular three-bay front on the left has end piers and a pier to the left of centre. The first floor has two glazing bar sash windows under cambered heads, with 12 panes to the left, 16 panes to the left of centre, and a triple casement window to the right. A 20th-century projecting shop front with an 18-pane glazing bar sash window under a cambered head is situated on the ground floor to the left. Plate glass windows are positioned to the right. A ¾ glazed door is located at the left end, alongside a 6-panel fielded door within a moulded projecting surround and flat hood on brackets to the left of centre. A further ¾ glazed door is on the right (J.E. Ingram). An incised render extension projects at right angles to the rear left.
