Description

This is a row of houses with shop fronts, dating back to the 17th century, with later alterations from the late 18th and 19th centuries. The building is timber framed on the right side, with incised render cladding, and brick on the left. The right side has plain tiled roofs, restored in the 20th century, while the left side features Mansard roofs with pantiles on the upper part. A large ridge stack is positioned on the left and a rear stack on the right.

Numbers 13 and 15 form a pair, each with a “Venetian” sash window featuring glazing bars, keystones above the arched central light, and remnants of a wooden cornice above number 13. A hipped panel is centrally located on the first floor. Modern shop fronts are present at ground level, with glazed doors in the centre.

Number 17 is set back, with a projecting gable front bay on the right end and coved eaves on the left. The first floor has a 20-pane glazing bar sash window in an architrave surround on the left, and two glazing bar sash windows on the right. The gable front bay features plat bands above the ground and first floors, and a raised band to the coping of the curving, shaped gable. A glazed door is located to the left side, with a part-glazed door to the right, separated by a trellis panel on a dado wall. A wing to the rear right displays exposed timber framing.
