Description

The Old Cottage is a house and shop located on Bridge Street in Walton on Thames. It dates back to the 17th century and was remodeled in the 19th century. The building features incised render and a plain tiled roof, with an end stack on the right side. It has two storeys and an attic, with two gable front bays at each end, the left gable being the largest. The windows are diamond-patterned leaded casements, with an arched window in the attic of the right gable. There are three windows across the first floor. The central entrance is an arched planked door with strapwork hinges, set in a gabled porch. At the rear, there is a hipped roof. To the right, No. 47 projects as a single-storey shop front, built in the 19th century, featuring a hipped slate roof and a plate glass shop front with a glazed door on the ground floor right.
