Description

This house, located on High Street, Walton on Thames, dates to around 1650. It is a brick building with a rendered front and a plain tiled roof. A central chimney stack is prominent on the front elevation, and the building features a distinctive Dutch-style gable facing the street. A plat band runs above the first floor, and there is a plat moulding along the edge of a small pediment. A blocked cambered-head window is visible in the gable, alongside two further blocked windows on the first floor. The ground floor has been altered in the 20th century with a tiled and plate glass shop front, including double-glazed doors at the left end. The left return front has two storeys and an attic, with a gabled dormer on the right side. Three sash windows with glazing bars are located on the first floor. The rear of the building includes a gabled wing with a string course above the ground floor.
