Description
This building at 63 Wide Bargate is a pair of houses designed as a single structure, built around 1830 with later 19th-century alterations. The exterior features stucco on the front, with red brick on the rear walls, and a slate roof topped with a square panelled ridge stack. The gable end faces the street.
The building is two storeys high with a two-bay front. It has a plinth and a pair of full-height pilasters at the center, along with a single pilaster at each end. A tall fascia and a large moulded pediment crown the entire frontage. On the ground floor, there are two three-light plain sash windows set in plain stucco surrounds, accompanied by a frieze and cornice supported by scrolled brackets. The first floor features two plain sash windows with plain surrounds and sills on tabs. There are side doors in plain stucco surrounds topped with a plain hood on console brackets. To the left, there is a later two-storey extension that is set back and has a single window on each floor. The interior has not been inspected.
