Description

This is a terrace of three houses located on Grove Street West in Boston. They date from the early 19th century. The houses are built of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a slate roof, stone-coped gables, and two gable and ridge stacks.

The exterior presents a three-story, six-bay facade, with the right-hand bay slightly recessed and blank above ground floor level. Each house has a six-panel door with an overlight, set within a wooden doorcase with a narrow hood, and a single plain sash window to the left. The first floor features five plain sash windows with continuous stone sills. The second floor has five smaller windows; four are two-light casements, and one is a glazing bar sash, all with individual stone sills. All windows are set within splayed, flat rubbed brick arches.

The interior of number 6 retains some original features, including fluted architraves, fireplaces with decorative surrounds, and a staircase with stick balusters.
