Description

No. 42, Pen Street is an early 19th-century terraced house with a later 19th-century rear extension. It is constructed of red brick in English bond, with a hipped pantile roof covered in stone hip tiles, a single stack, and slate to the rear lean-to.

The front of the building is three storeys and one bay. It features a six-panel front door with a plain overlight, set within a pedimented surround with narrow pilasters and panelled reveals. To the right of the door is a plain sash window. Single, similar sash windows are located on the first and second floors, all with segmental brick heads. An overhanging soffit supports flat paired brackets. The rear of the property has glazing bar sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
