Description
No. 2 North Street is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brown brick in English garden wall bond and features a pantiled roof. The building has a central direct entry plan and stands two storeys high, with attics and a basement, and consists of three bays. The entrance consists of a 20th-century door with glazing bars set within a doorcase that has reeded pilasters and a pediment. This door is flanked by 16-pane sash windows with sills, all positioned under cambered lintels. On the first floor, there is a sash window with glazing bars above the door, and to the right and left are additional 16-pane sashes, again with sills and under cambered lintels. The end stacks of the house have plain close verges.
