Description

No. 5 Market Hill is a house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features English garden wall bond brickwork set on a chamfered plinth and has a graduated slate roof with a brick chimney stack. The building stands three storeys high with a cellar and consists of a single bay, forming part of a terrace of houses. There are steps leading up to a 20th-century door that is topped by a glazed fanlight and framed by a painted stone architrave. The cellar has a sash window with glazing bars, while the main façade includes double sash windows with glazing bars in painted stone surrounds. The upper floor has smaller windows, one being a sash and the other a 20th-century casement.
