Description

No. 14 Crowe Street is an early 18th-century house with a 19th-century rear extension, located in Stowmarket. The house has a timber-frame construction, rendered and set on a brick plinth. The south gable wall has been rebuilt in gault brick, and the roof is covered with plain tiles. It is two storeys high, featuring a single window on its front facade.

The ground floor has a six-panelled door with the two upper panels glazed, set to the right, and topped with a simple hood. To the left of the door is a sash window with 12-pane glazing bars and a flush frame. A similar sash window above has been replaced in the late 19th century. The roof is gabled, with an internal gable-end stack to the north.

The brick south return wall has a sash window on each floor, and a casement window in attic outshut extensions to the rear. The taller of these rear extensions has a stack and a slate roof.
