Description
18 and 20 Crowe Street are a pair of houses dating from the early 18th century, with significant enlargements made in the late 18th century. They feature a plastered and colourwashed timber frame, with a gault brick gable on the south side and a pantile roof. The buildings are two storeys tall. The facade includes a 20th-century four-panelled door on the right, with separate pedimented hoods above. Next to the doors, there is a two-light casement window with glazing bars and triangular glazing bars above the transom. On the first floor, there are two similar windows, with the right-hand window being a sliding sash. A coved cornice runs beneath the gabled roof, and there is a central ridge stack. At the rear, there is a parallel range that is also two storeys high, featuring an external stack on the west side and early 19th-century casements. The infill between this range and the main house is made of brick.
