Description

The War Memorial, located in Boston, was designed by WS Weatherley FRIBA and completed in 1921. It is constructed from Portland stone and Hopton stone. The memorial features a square base on a chamfered plinth, which displays the names of those who fell in both World Wars on Hopton stone panels on each face. Atop the base is a tall square pillar with chamfered angles, finished with a cornice and a plain cross. The structure is elevated on three stone steps that have chamfers at the angles, and it includes a small podium with a curved stone seat at each corner, each ending in a small obelisk.
