Description

No. 6 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the early 19th century and was altered in the late 19th century. The building is made of rendered limestone rubble, featuring brick gable stacks and a hipped pantile roof. It has a single-depth plan and stands two storeys tall on a corner site. The entrance is a half-glazed door located in the splayed right-hand corner, leading to a 1+2-window range. The late 19th-century shop fronts are made of plate glass and are flanked by entablatures. The windows include 6/6-pane sashes, with two on the right-hand return and one on the ground floor below. The right-hand door on the return has a fanlight and a six-panel door. The interior was altered in the late 20th century and is connected internally to No. 1 Market Hill, which is located to the right.
