Description

The mile post located east of Cocked Hat Farm is a mid-19th century structure made of cast iron, painted white with black lettering in relief. It has a triangular plan and features inscriptions on its faces: "NR Y CC" on the upper face, "THIRSK 1" on the south face, and "BOROBRIDGE 10" on the north face. This mile post was manufactured locally at the Norby foundry.
