Description
96 Front Street in Sowerby is a house consisting of two sections built in the 18th century and late 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed of brown brick and features pantile roofs, with the later, taller roof having raised stone verges and kneelers. The building has two storeys. The earlier 18th-century section is lower, with a steep roof, dentilled eaves, and a first-floor string course. This part has three bays, with a central entrance that is now blocked and a blind panel above it. The windows are 16-pane sashes set in flush moulded cases with plain cills. The later section has two bays and an entrance on the right side, featuring a panelled door with reveals and a radial fanlight. The wooden doorcase includes reeded pilasters, an entablature, and a triangular open pediment, along with large 16-pane sashes in flush cases.
