Description

The dovecot, located to the south of the Manor House in Sowerby, is a 17th-century structure now used as a store. It is built of reddish-brown brick and features dentilled eaves along with a band approximately 6 feet above the ground. The roof is hipped and covered with pantiles. The dovecot measures about 15 feet square and stands 20 feet to the eaves. The original doorway on the north face has been walled up and is flanked by two brick pilasters. Above this band on the north face, there are two additional bands of moulded brickwork. A later doorway is present on the south side.
