Description
71 Front Street is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is built of brick, which is rendered and whitewashed. The ground floor features horizontal channelling, a light cornice, and quoins above. There is a wooden modillion eaves cornice and a slate roof. The building has three storeys and four bays. Access is via three stone steps leading to the entrance located in the second bay from the right. The entrance consists of a panelled door with a radial fanlight, framed by a doorcase that includes reeded pilasters, an entablature, and a dentilled triangular pediment. To the left of the entrance, there is a 20th-century bowed oriel window. The upper floors have sash windows with glazing bars, while the ground floor features later glazing. The windows on the first and second floors have plain cills and moulded surrounds.
