Description

The Willows is a house dating from the early 19th century, likely remodelling an earlier building. It is constructed of colourwashed brick with a rendered plinth and dentil eaves. The roof is tiled, with brick chimneys on either side. The house has two storeys and two bays. It features horizontal sash windows with glazing bars; the ground floor windows are three-light, and those on the first floor are two-light. A central door has flush panels and is topped by a flat brick arch, as are all the openings. The rear wall is a mix of ashlar at ground floor level and colourwashed brick above. A room to the rear of the left-hand bay contains unusually broad floor joists running across the building’s axis. The building is included on the list for its group value.
