BYRAM-CUM-SUTTON BYRAM PARK Gateway, wall, railings and piers to west of Orangery (formerly listed as Gateway to west of The Orangery at Byram Hall)

Gateway, railings, wall and piers. Mid C19. Sandstone,ashlar and cast-iron. Central gateway between walls and railings. Jacobethan style. Piers square on plan ornamented with carved basket of fruit and vegetables. Ram's heads to corners holding swags support cornice. Pyramidal caps surmounted by pineapple finials. Ornate double gates with overthrow decorated with scrollwork. To either side railings on low wall. Railings have bars, dogbars and twisted standards all surmounted by finials. Rusticated end piers with floriate frieze, cornice, pyramidal caps and fluted ball finials.
