Description
The gateway and railings to numbers 31, 33, and 35, known as Keynsham House, date from the early 19th century and are contemporary with the house itself. The central gateway features whitewashed ashlar stone, while the end piers are made of dressed stone. The design reflects a late Georgian style.
The gateway includes plain, square-section stone piers topped with projecting square caps. The incised panelled piers support an entablature and a blocking course, with a plank gate. The wrought-iron railings are adorned with spear-heads and intermediate floral finials on the support bars. These railings extend approximately 35 meters along the frontage of Keynsham House, making it a significant feature of the streetscape.
