Description
This is a farmhouse, now a house, likely dating to the mid-17th century, with additions from the mid-19th century and later alterations in the late 20th century. The exterior is whitewashed rubble with wooden lintels, ashlar copings, and a gabled pantile roof, featuring brick stacks at the gable ends. The attached low wall has ashlar copings and cast-iron railings.
The farmhouse has an L-shaped plan; the original sections run parallel to the road and at a right angle to it, with a mid-19th century bakehouse added to the rear. The original layout included a through-passage and a two-room plan.
The roadside front is two storeys high and has a two-window range. The front features late 20th-century casements irregularly spaced to the left angle and to the right of a central, late 20th-century glazed door. The projecting wing features two gable ends and further casements, including two on the ground floor and one on the first floor of the inner face. A large external stack is visible on the north return wall. The original entrance doorway is now a casement window.
Inside, the parallel range has flagstone floors and run-out stopped chamfered spine beams. The ground-floor room on the right has an inglenook fireplace with a wood bressumer.
A low, coped wall with spear-head railings defines a front courtyard.
