Description

Stoneleigh House is a house dating from the late 18th century, with an early 19th-century extension. It features colourwashed render, rubble stone, and brick dressings on the extension, along with ashlar copings and gabled roofs covered in single Roman tiles. The house has a single-depth plan.

The exterior is two stories high and has a three-window range, with a lower two-story, two-window extension to the west and a two-story, single-window extension at the north-west corner. The main range and lower extension are set at right angles to the road, while the north-west extension runs parallel to it. The symmetrical south front has a central doorway, and all windows are 20th-century 12-pane sashes set in flush frames. The first-floor window in the center is blind and painted to look like a sash. The doorway is under an open pediment and features a late 20th-century six-panel door with a radial fanlight. The extension has similar 20th-century 12-pane sashes with slight cambered heads. The north-west extension includes a canted three-light bay on the ground floor with 12-pane sashes facing the road and 8-pane sashes on the sides, along with a 12-pane sash in plain reveals with a sill on the first floor. There is a doorway to the left under a lean-to roof covered in single Roman tiles, which has a late 20th-century door.

The interior has not been inspected. Stoneleigh House forms a group with No.2 nearby.
