Description

Overton is a house dating from the late 18th century, with 19th-century extensions. It is constructed of coursed stone rubble and brick, topped with a tiled roof and features brick ridge chimneys. The building consists of two parallel blocks, each with end extensions on one side.

The exterior is three stories high and has a three-window range. On the first floor, there are three 19th-century 2/2 sash windows with keyed stone lintels. At the attic level, there are three 3/3 sash windows beneath brick dentil eaves. The ground floor features 19th-century bay windows on either side of a central door, which is sheltered by a lean-to hipped tiled pentice roof. The doorway is glazed over and has a two-leaf door, each panel topped with glass.

To the left, there is an extension with a two-story single-window range that includes 2/2 sashes, also with keyed stone lintels. The left return has two 2/2 sashes with keyed stone lintels and stone sills on the first floor, plus one on the ground floor. The ground-floor window to the right has been converted into a bay window with a tiled hipped roof. The central entrance features a four-panel door with a keyed stone lintel.

A service wing is attached to the left of the gable end. The right return has a single 2/2 sash with a keyed stone lintel. On the rear block's gable end, there is a single 2-light casement and an additional 2/2 sash at ground level, both with keyed stone lintels. The rear of the building has a parallel block that is two stories high, featuring a five-window range of 2-light casements with keyed stone lintels on the ground floor. To the right, there is a six-panelled door, and in the center, there is a 20th-century glazed door. The service wing abuts the rear block on the right.

The interior has not been inspected.
