GV II

Lodge. c1870. Red brick with deep eaves of coved render. Plain-tiled roofs with hipped cross-roofs. Cross-shaped plan. Part projecting tall brick gable-end stacks with panelled shafts and corbelled caps each flanked with ornamental hung tiles. EXTERIOR: single storey and attic. 2 window front with entrance between. Right-hand bay window of mullion and transom fenestration with projecting painted timber pediment on console brackets. Window set in advanced bay with hipped roof incorporating segmental-pediment roof with simple entablature and 2-light casement. Left-hand mullion and transom window with pediment head. Lean-to entrance porch with ornate open screen over 6-panelled door. Gabled return sides: casement windows with flat gauged brick lintels with carved ogee enrichment to soffit. Armorial tablet on chimney stack to right-hand side: moulded brick pediment and tablet with eared architrave housing carved brick coat of arms of Foster family who rebuilt Moor Park (qv). Rear: 2 hipped tiled dormers with 2-light casements with the left dormer incorporated in projecting bay to left-hand side with hipped roof. Plain door and casement under gauged brick lintels. C20 tiled gabled single-storey extension to right. INTERIOR: not inspected.
