Description
The Lodge to Moor Park is a building constructed around 1870. It is made of red brick and features deep eaves of coved render, with plain-tiled roofs that include hipped cross-roofs and a cross-shaped plan. The lodge is a single storey with an attic and has a two-window front with an entrance positioned between the windows.
The right-hand bay features a window with mullion and transom fenestration, topped by a projecting painted timber pediment supported by console brackets. This window is set in an advanced bay that has a hipped roof, which incorporates a segmental-pediment roof with a simple entablature and a two-light casement. The left-hand side has a mullion and transom window with a pediment head.
There is a lean-to entrance porch that has an ornate open screen above a six-panelled door. The gabled return sides have casement windows with flat gauged brick lintels, which are enriched with carved ogee details on the soffit. An armorial tablet is located on the chimney stack to the right side, featuring a moulded brick pediment and a tablet with an eared architrave that houses a carved brick coat of arms belonging to the Foster family, who were responsible for the rebuilding of Moor Park.
At the rear, there are two hipped tiled dormers with two-light casements, with the left dormer integrated into a projecting bay on the left side, which also has a hipped roof. There is a plain door and casement under gauged brick lintels, along with a 20th-century tiled gabled single-storey extension to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
