COWLING REEDSHAW LANE Reedshaw Farmhouse and Barn

II

Farmhouse and attached barn, 1618 and 1886. The front of the lane has a chamfered doorway bearing the inscription "SMP 1886.1618", and is clearly of 1886, but the attached barn, with chamfered doorways, is perhaps C17. Dressed stone to front, squared rubble to rear (barn of rubble) with stone slate roof. The rear wall appears to be intact from C17. To ground floor 3 double chamfered mullion windows, of 4, 4 and 2 lights, with hoodmoulds but lacking some mullions. To first floor 3, 3 and 2 lights, the centre window altered. Gable chimneys. Interior not inspected.
