Description

This is a 19th-century milepost located approximately 220 metres north of Wetherby Lodge. It is made of cast iron and is supported by gritstone. The milepost has a triangular shape with a rounded head and stands about 80 centimetres high. The inscriptions on the head read: "Wetherby Spofforth Knaresboro Road. Kirk Deighton." The flat top states: "Brayshaw and Booth Makers Liversedge." The left face indicates "Wetherby 1 mile," while the right face shows the distances to various locations: "Harrogate 7 miles, Knaresbro 6 miles, Spofforth 2 miles."
