Description

The resited gate piers on the driveway to Ings House are likely from the late 18th century and were relocated around 1986. They are made of ashlar magnesian limestone. Each pier features a rusticated square shaft with a hanging stile that ends in an inverted scroll. Below a broad cornice, there is an architrave and pulvinated frieze, topped with a large ball finial set on a chamfered and pulvinated plinth. These gate piers were moved from the boundary wall of Wetherby Grange.
