Description
The bath house, located to the south west of Wharfedale Lawn, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and features quorns and a pantile roof. The eastern garden front is a single storey with a central doorway flanked by round-headed window openings. The western river front is two storeys high, with a central blocked doorway and three window openings above, all featuring ashlar lintels and cills. The south front has a single doorway at a lower level. Inside, there are two floors, with a large rectangular cold water plunge bath sunken into the lower floor. The upper floor includes a single early 19th-century fireplace. To the north, there is a small oval pool and pump that supplied water to the cold water bath. The building is currently in a poor state of repair.
